Personal Code of Ethics

The set of personal values and ethical principles someone brings at work.

GCC trailblazer

A senior leader or expert who formidably channels his/her efforts, professional experience, and political skill in strategically influencing and managing GCCs.

Grand Challenge Collaboration

An international, interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral, interprofessional collaboration addressing a Grand Challenge.

Grand Challenge

A global issue that cannot be addressed by one individual, organization, or nation alone.

Ethical dilemmas

These arise when somebody must make a choice between two or more options which reflect opposing values and ethical principles which are equally important to them. Whichever decision is selected will lead to a value or ethical principle being compromised. Different personal codes of ethics will create different ethical dilemmas, and what is the right decision for one may not be right for another. Understanding this can support GCC trailblazers in better understanding themselves, their collaborators, and the decisions being made in GCCs.
